The wedding venue

"The Fox and Goose in was the first venue we looked at, it was absolutely beautiful venue and the view was amazing! It was just a really comfortable and gave off that chilled vibe we were aiming for."

The Make up, Hair and Flowers

"My hair and Make up artist was Emma from Makeup Artist Midlands - she was a recommendation from Libby from Yes Bridal Studio. Emma has a lot of experience working with fair skin and she was absolutely wonderful. Getting ready was made so much more relaxed with Emma, my mum did make a comment that she'd never met a bride so chilled! "

The dress, shoes and flowers

"The wedding dress was from Yes Bridal Studio in Matlock, Libby was so wonderful in helping me select the dress and in making sure I was comfortable and happy with my dress! The shoes were personalised converse purchased from the converse website - no uncomfortable heels to allow for my dancing feet to last all night! Our flowers were put together by the wonderful Jill at Plantology - we went into florist with only a slight idea of what we wanted and she came up with the most fantastic floral arrangements. We had sunflowers and sweetpeas in memory of Jess's Nan with a mixture of some more wildflowers."

The groom and groomsmen

"We got our suits from Moss Bros in the end.  Due to the pandemic, it was a bit of a difficulty sorting a suit.  Immediately walking past the shop window, the suit stood out.  After looking at several others, we finally settled on the first one I saw!   The suit was a cheque navy 3 piece which was tailored.

Before the ceremony, I didn't particularly feel too nervous, however, lots of people have commented on the nervous energy I was giving whilst standing at the front of the room.  Plus, shaking handling the rings suggests the nerves were well and truly there!"

The ceremony

How did you feel walking down the aisle?

"Walking down the aisle, I was grateful to have my dad with me! I was really nervous until I saw Eddie. Having the wedding during Covid restrictions meant that we could only have 28 Guests but this made it feel much more intimate and a lot easier to walk down the aisle!"

What did you think seeing your bride for the first time?

"Seeing Jess for the first time was fantastic.  She looked incredible!  I felt a rush of butterflies and excitement."

What do you remember in particular about the ceremony?

"The reading of our vows stands out the most and the readings read by our family and friends. Also, exchanging the rings - a bit nervous and worried we would drop them!"

Celebrations

"It was nice to be able to relax, very loving and wonderful seeing our closest family and friends and being able to share our marriage with them. Our favourite confetti photograph is above!"

The wedding theme and colour scheme

"Our colour scheme was a pale blue and yellow to match our flowers."

Speeches

"We'd kept the speeches relatively small scale, in which only (myself) Eddie and his best man Jonny did a speech.  Before my speech I felt incredibly relaxed and content.  Due to the pandemic and being limited on guests, it felt much more intimate.  I really enjoyed standing and telling the story of how me and Jess met, in which I had to paused for a short moment to compose myself, which was something that was a massive surprise for me!

During the best man's speech, it was great to see that he was a little nervous! I feel he really welcomed the guests, in which he told some great jokes about our friendship, as well as sharing the love for mine and Jess' marriage."

Bride and groom photoshoot

"As we'd had a pre wedding photo shoot with Frances, it allowed to feel really relaxed during the photoshoot. We went up to Curbar edge, in which the scenery was beautiful.  Frances was amazing, she was really entertaining and made the photoshoot a fun experience.  Frances is clearly very good at what she does, being able to spot shots we wouldn't have noticed.  Frances was very enthusiastic, in which her whole personality made us both feel incredibly comfortable."

"We'd met Frances at a wedding fayre at the venue having already been recommended her by the Fox & Goose. We looked through her portfolio and fell in love with the imagery and style that Frances captures.  Frances was also really kind and enthusiastic about the both of us.  We could not recommend her enough!"

"Our favourite photo from the shoot is the silhouette above. We loved this photo because the lighting in the photo is incredible. The way Frances created the silhouette with such detail around the flowers along with the view was simply amazing. "

Cake and first dance

"The cake we made ourselves, in which we made a Guinness cake, along with a vegan lemon drizzle, in which the set up looked fantastic.  Due to COVID we were unable to do a first dance, which probably suited us better anyway! We instead spent the time enjoying the sunshine with all our guests which was fantastic."

Stand out most memorable moment

"A real standout moment for us was the time directly after the ceremony. As we walked out together and got 5 minutes alone.  When the guests came out, it was fantastic as we got to share the celebration with all our guests, whilst finally being together."

Any tips for future brides and grooms?
