I’m Frances and I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a number of surprise proposals at Chatsworth. Every proposal is different, but the setting never fails to take my breath away.

Proposal packages at Chatsworth

Chatsworth offers beautiful proposal packages, giving you the choice of two incredible settings: the Belvedere Tower or the Chatsworth Gardens. The Belvedere Tower is a particularly spectacular spot, with panoramic views across the estate providing an incredible backdrop as you get down on one knee. If you’re looking for something a little more intimate, the gardens offer countless beautiful locations surrounded by flowers, greenery and historic features.

A proposal happens in an instant — the anticipation, the surprise when they realise what’s happening, the question, the answer and that incredible moment when you realise you’re engaged. Being there quietly capture all of those genuine reactions and little moments is something I absolutely love. I photograph proposals in a relaxed, natural and discreet way, allowing you to be completely present in the moment while I quietly document the story as it unfolds.
